Dear Friend,
While these days the internet’s abuzz with talk of how effective metabolic resistance training workouts are at burning fat, what few of you may know is that almost every Turbulence Training workout program already uses this type of training, including the hugely popular Bodyweight Cardio 3 workout program.
What is Metabolic Resistance Training (MRT)
Anytime you use supersets or circuits to train with an elevated heart rate and insufficient recovery, you are doing metabolic resistance training.
BUT, the metabolic resistance training used by Turbulence Training readers is different…
…I’ve modified the heavy metabolic resistance training and also incorporated metabolic resistance conditioning, using lighter resistance AND less rest.
And so thanks to these short burst workouts, you build muscle and lose fat at the same time, while getting lean and even having ripped six-pack abs, all without cardiovascular training OR interval training.
In fact, you DON’T even need fancy, expensive equipment. Instead, you can focus on using bodyweight exercises, dumbbell and kettlebell exercises, or even TRX exercises. That’s a lot of variation, and perfect for keeping your muscles guessing.
Why Use Metabolic Resistance Training
Gone are the days of slow cardio for weight loss. Heck, even interval training is starting to get passed over. All in favor of this specific type of workout called metabolic resistance training.
Let me explain…
Running for a mile is roughly equal to 1500 repetitions. And with each rep being an equivalent of 2 to 4 times your normal bodyweight, I’m sure you can appreciate the stressful impact running has on your knees, hips, and low back over time.
Unfortunately, it’s often TOO LATE for many runners before learning about the Dark side of Cardio.
And while running in the form of interval training results in fewer repetitions than traditional cardio, it still places an incredible load on your joints. That’s why I’ve always recommended the bike as the preferred method of traditional interval training.
BUT, when you replace cardio and running intervals with total body, multi-muscle circuits like those found in TT Metabolic Resistance Training, Metabolic Finishers, and BW Cardio 3 -you not only place less stress on your joints, but because you’re working your body just as hard (increased heart rate and training the same energy systems), you still get the same fat-burning results PLUS you build lean, strong muscles.
What’s Inside TT Metabolic Resistance Training
In the TT MRT program, you get 4 flexible workouts that are broken down into two components; two heavy metabolic resistance training workouts and two metabolic conditioning workouts.
And while you aren’t limited to machines or weights with this new workout program, the true beauty of the MRT system is the fast-paced, short burst workouts that help you burn a ton of calories, and build muscle at the same time.
I’ll warn you first though, these are INTENSE workouts. That’s because the goal of TT Metabolic Resistance Training is to elevate your “in-workout and after-workout” calorie burning. Whereas with monotonous cardio workouts, no matter how long or how fast you run, you’ll never get the same “after-burn” effect.
TT Metabolic Finishers Workout Program
Boy-oh-boy, these workouts will kick your butt and leave your muscles burning for hours afterward…but all in a good way.
And that’s exactly what sets Turbulence Training apart from long, slow, boring cardio workouts.
It’s that post-exercise calorie burn of recovery that you’ve come to both love and expect from the TT metabolic workouts, but more importantly…
… this is why you’ll burn fat faster even without fancy equipment when you train with this style of workout.
Not only will you burn fat faster though, you’ll ALSO build lean, sexy muscle at the same time.
Yeah, just wait till you see the sweaty, metabolic goodness that I have in store for you….
Burpees, goblet squats, split shuffles, KB swings that’s only one of the heart-racing, sweat-inducing metabolic finishers that are guaranteed to leave your body beat and on a calorie burning rampage.
And with 3 of these fat-burning workouts, combining supersets, trisets, and metabolic finishers, you’ll get your workouts done a lot faster than the poor folks who have to do an hour or more of cardio just to stay lean.
Oh, and it doesn’t hurt that the workouts aren’t nearly as boring as cardio. Who needs a TV to keep your mind from going crazy when doing TT Metabolic Finishers does that just fine all on its own?
